A router is a networking device. It has data packages that differ from each of them depending entirely on the router package you subscribe to. Most business buildings gave routers. They are so common that even households have them.  Living in this age and error of WI-FI knowing your IP address is important.

Routers have an IP address. The IP addresses normally look like this 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1. Depending on what gadget you are using, getting an IP address is different. Both the computer and phones have different ways to getting the IP address.

·         An IP address has four numbers that are separated by a full stop, such as 192.168.1.1

·         A homes IP address have a certain way to starting. They all start with 192.168

·         Depending on what kind of computer you have, each has a different way of finding your router IP address differs.

How to find your IP address

Like I said above, depending on what computer you have, they ways of finding your IP address is different. Here are some of the ways to find routers on different gadget.

·         Linux;

Go to applications.

Choose system tools

Then choose terminal and type IP confg

The IP address will be listed beside inet address

I-phone

For ios9 and 8 click settings

Then WiFi

Click wireless network that you are connected to.

The IP address will be at the DHCP section.

·         Android

Download a WI-FI analyzer application and install

Click view menu on the app and select AP list

You`ll see the network connected name

Tap on it.

A window will then open to display information and the routers IP.

·         MAC-OS

At the of the screen you`ll find menu, click it

Then click the system preferences

Select the network and choose the network

Select the advanced button

You`ll see the TCP/IP click it, you`ll see the IP address on the right.

·         Linux

Click applications

The click the system tool

Click the terminal

Then type  IP configuration .

You will then see the routers IP address right beside the Inet Address.

·         Windows

Type command in the search bar.

A black window will open then type IP configuration

Look for default gate away address.

·         Chrome os

Click the notification areas on the task bar

Then click on the connected to network

Select the name of the wireless network you are connected to

Select net work

The results will display, your Ip address will also be displayed.

 

Before you configure your IP address you have to log in first. You must also know the IP address.

IP addresses differ in the sense that if you are vacation or somewhere taking coffee your and you are connected to WI-FI you re temporarily using a different P address.

The IP address is assigned to your laptop, computer and phone by the manufactures of your gadget. They all differ but each have four numbers as described earlier above.
